Planning Your Stay

Everything we wish every guest knew before arriving. If you have a question we haven't answered, we're always happy to help.

Booking and Policies

What time is check-in and check-out?+

Check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. If you'd like to arrive early or stay a little later, just email us at reservations@coralgardensongracebay.com and we'll do our best to make it work.

What do the taxes and fees on my booking cover?+

We like to be upfront about every charge. The 12% tourism tax goes directly to the Turks and Caicos government. The 10% service charge is shared among our on-site team, from housekeeping to our beach attendants, for the care they give you during your stay. The 5% resort fee covers the extras that make island life easy, like complimentary snorkel gear, beach chairs and umbrellas with attendant service, and high-speed WiFi.

Why should I book directly with you?+

Booking directly on our website always gets you the best possible rate, and you'll be working with our own reservations team from the moment you book.

Are pets allowed?+

We love animals, but pets aren't permitted at Coral Gardens on Grace Bay. You'll likely meet a few friendly cats who call the property home, though.

Is smoking allowed?+

Coral Gardens on Grace Bay is a non-smoking property, so everyone can enjoy the fresh sea air.

Are there quiet hours?+

Turks and Caicos is a peaceful island, and things settle down after about 10 PM. We simply ask that guests be considerate of their neighbors in the evening.

Your Condo

Does every condo have a kitchen?+

Yes. Every condo has a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for breakfast on the balcony or a relaxed dinner in. Please note that we don't have barbecue grills on property.

Is there laundry?+

All of our two-bedroom condos have a washer and dryer right in the unit. Guests in our one-bedroom building have a laundry room with two washers and two dryers, free to use any time.

Can you provide a crib or high chair?+

Yes, cribs and high chairs can be available for your little ones. Please let us know well in advance at reservations@coralgardensongracebay.com so we can have everything ready when you arrive.

Is there an elevator?+

Our buildings don't have elevators, and third-floor condos are reached by stairs. If stairs are a challenge for anyone in your group, please keep that in mind when choosing your condo. Our reservations team is happy to help you find the right fit.

How often is housekeeping?+

Housekeeping visits every other day and leaves enough fresh bath towels for two days with each visit. Beach towels are separate: just swap your beach towel cards for fresh ones each morning at the towel booth.

Before You Travel

Do I need a passport?+

Guests traveling from the US and Canada need a valid passport. If you're visiting from another country, please check the latest entry requirements with Turks and Caicos before you travel.

Visit the official Turks and Caicos tourism site →
What currency is used?+

The US dollar is the official currency of Turks and Caicos, so there's no need to exchange money if you're coming from the US.

Will my devices work, or do I need an adapter?+

Turks and Caicos uses the same US-style outlets, so your chargers and devices from the US will work without an adapter.

When is hurricane season?+

Hurricane season officially runs from June 1 to November 30, with the highest risk from mid-August through September. Most of the year brings calm, sunny days, but if you're traveling in late summer, travel insurance can offer extra peace of mind.

Should I tip?+

Many restaurants on the island add a 10% service charge, which serves as the tip, but not all do, so it's worth checking your bill. Where it isn't included, a 10% tip is customary.

Getting Around

How far is the airport, and do you offer transfers?+

Providenciales International Airport is about 5 miles from Coral Gardens. We don't offer airport transfers, so most guests pick up a rental car at the airport or take a taxi straight to the beach.

Is parking free?+

Yes, parking is free for all of our guests.

Should I rent a car?+

We recommend it if you're comfortable driving on the left, which is the opposite of the US. A small four-passenger car runs about $45 to $60 a day depending on the season. A taxi to dinner for four is usually $30 to $40 each way, so a car often pays for itself after a couple of outings.

Which car rental company do you recommend?+

Our guests love Grace Bay Car Rental. Their cars wait for you right at the airport, the fleet is the newest on the island, and the team is friendly and well staffed. Most other agencies shuttle you two to three miles away in a 14-passenger van before you can pick up your car.

When should I book my car and restaurants?+

If you're joining us over the holidays (December 19 to January 4) or in winter (January 5 to March 30), please book both well ahead. Cars and popular restaurants fill up quickly in those weeks, and we'd hate for you to miss out.

Groceries and Supplies

Can I have groceries or drinks waiting when I arrive?+

Absolutely. We recommend Island Selects TCI for grocery delivery, including wine and spirits, so your kitchen is stocked the moment you walk in.

Order from Island Selects →
Can I buy alcohol on Sundays?+

Retail stores don't sell alcohol on Sundays in Turks and Caicos, so plan your Saturday shopping accordingly. Bars and restaurants, including ours, serve drinks every day of the week.

Where's the nearest supermarket?+

Graceway IGA is just five minutes away by car or taxi and is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. You'll find almost everything you'd find at home, though imported US brands can be pricey, so many guests pack their favorite snacks.

At the Resort

Is the snorkeling really right out front?+

Yes, and it's one of our favorite things to share. The Bight Reef, also known as Coral Gardens, sits just steps off our beach and is one of the best spots in the islands for shallow-water snorkeling. Grab your mask after breakfast and you'll be swimming with tropical fish minutes later. Snorkel gear is complimentary for our guests.

How do beach towels, chairs and umbrellas work?+

At check-in we'll give you beach towel cards that you can swap for fresh towels every morning at the towel booth on the main path to the beach. Our beach attendant will happily set up your chaise lounges, umbrella and a side table for your things.

Do you have a pool?+

We have two pools, so you can choose between a swim in the warm Caribbean and a lazy afternoon poolside.

Is there a restaurant on property?+

Somewhere Café and Lounge sits right on the beach and serves a casual, Tex-Mex inspired menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Head to the upper deck bar for sunset views, with live music several nights a week.

Is WiFi included?+

Complimentary high-speed WiFi is available in every suite. We hope you unplug and unwind, but if you need to stay in touch, free apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime and Viber work well for calls home.

Dining and Excursions

Which restaurants do you recommend?+

Turks and Caicos has wonderful dining at every price point. A few of our favorites: for casual bites, Cocovan, Chinson's, Turks Kebab and Da Conch Shack. For a relaxed dinner out, Mango Reef, The Deck, Embers, Baci and The Farm. For a special occasion, Infinity, Lua, Marine Room, Sui-Ren and Vita. Dining on the island can be expensive, so it's worth checking menus before you go.

Can you help with restaurant reservations or excursions?+

We'd love to. Our reservations team can book restaurants and recommend sunset cruises, deep-sea fishing and other excursions. Just email reservations@coralgardensongracebay.com and tell us what you have in mind.

Weather and Packing

What's the weather like?+

Expect warm, sunny days around 85°F and comfortable evenings around 75°F, with sunshine most days of the year. If the wind picks up on our side of the island, take a short drive to Sapodilla Bay or Taylor Bay for calm, glassy water. Sapodilla has vendors selling food and drinks and renting chairs, while Taylor Bay is quiet and vendor-free.

Will there be mosquitoes?+

Like any tropical destination, we have some mosquitoes, especially after rain. A bottle of spray-on repellent in your bag will keep you comfortable.

Owning in Turks and Caicos

Can someone help me buy property here?+

If you fall in love with the island, as many of our guests do, Scott Sutherland, General Manager of Coral Gardens Management, is also a real estate agent and would be glad to help. Reach him at scott@blueparrot.tc.
